Euro 2012 Group D: Ukraine 0 France 2

France have moved a large step closer to progressing to the knockout stages at Euro 2012, with a convincing 2-0 win over Ukraine in Donetsk.

Les Bleus were guided by two goals in the space of three second-half minutes to Jeremy Menez and Yohan Cabaye, with striker Karim Benzema providing the assist for both.

Menez turned his opponent inside out, and fired a left-foot shot at the near post of Ukraine custodian Andriy Pyatov on 53 minutes, before Benzema laid off to Cabaye for France s second moments later.

The match had been halted after just a few minutes due to lightning, but after a 45-minute delay, play continued.

And when it did, France were commanding much to the home fans displeasure, with Cabaye also being denied by the woodwork in his attempt at a brace.
